What is the Kölner Liste and which products can you find there?
Let's start at the beginning: Kölner Liste – what exactly is it?
In short: The Kölner Liste is a public database for dietary supplements that have been tested for banned substances like steroids and stimulants. It is operated by the Center for Preventive Doping Research at the German Sport University Cologne – real experts in doping prevention. The tests are conducted independently and with strict scientific methods through specialized laboratory analyses.
The goal is clear: Athletes and health-conscious people should be able to use supplements that are safe and free from doping risks. The tested Kölner Liste products are carefully checked and meet the highest standards, so athletes can use them without worry.

Is Vetain on the Cologne List?
Yes, we are represented on the Cologne List with several products! In 2025, our first Cologne List products were officially listed – a milestone we are truly proud of.
Why was this so important to us? Quite simply: Many of our customers are athletically active – some even in competitive sports. For them, tested quality is not a nice-to-have but essential. The listing is another step for us to build trust and show: With Vetain, you get products that are really good.
Which of our products are listed?
Currently, all our Vegan Proteins (except the Limited Editions), some of our Clear Proteins, and selected dietary supplements are on the Cologne List. Further down in the article, you will see the products listed individually!

Why aren’t all our products listed there?
Honestly: There are several reasons. On the one hand, the registration process involves quite high costs, which we as a startup cannot just pull out of thin air. Simply registering all products as Cologne List products was financially not feasible so far. Therefore, we have focused on listing certain products such as our bestsellers or particularly relevant products.
On the other hand, our Vegan Protein Powder could not be included for a long time because it contained hemp protein. And the keyword hemp is unfortunately a no-go for the Cologne List, even if it is only a protein component. We knew that and therefore didn’t even try. The good news: Since our new formula without hemp, our Vegan Protein Powders are eligible for listing.
What this means for Vetain:
Our goal is clear: In the long term, we want to have all Vetain products on the Cologne List. Even today, we produce according to the same high quality and purity standards, regardless of whether a product is already listed or not.
