What is the Cologne List, and which products can you find there?
Let's start at the beginning: The Cologne List - what exactly is it?
In short: The Cologne List is a public database for food supplements tested for prohibited substances such as steroids and stimulants. It is operated by the Center for Preventive Doping Research at the German Sport University Cologne - in other words, by genuine experts in doping prevention. The tests are conducted independently and according to strict scientific standards through specialized laboratory analyses.
The goal is clear: Athletes and health-conscious people should be able to use supplements safely and without the risk of doping. The tested Cologne List products are carefully examined and meet the highest standards, so athletes can use them with confidence.
The list includes various product categories: protein powders, creatine, vitamins, minerals, and more. If a product appears on the Cologne List, it is therefore a sign of high quality, purity, and transparency. You will find out later why this is particularly important for athletes!
Is Vetain on the Cologne List?
Yes, several of our products are featured on the Cologne List! In 2025, our first Cologne List products were officially listed - a milestone we are truly proud of.
Why was this so important to us? Quite simply: Many of our customers are physically active - some even compete at a professional level. For them, tested quality is not a nice-to-have but essential. For us, the listing is another step toward building trust and showing that at Vetain, you get products that are genuinely good.
Which of our products are listed?
Currently, all our Vegan Proteins (except the Limited Editions), some of our Clear Proteins, and selected dietary supplements are on the Cologne List. Further down in the article, you can see the products listed individually!

Why aren't all our products listed there?
To be honest, there are several reasons. For one, the registration process involves fairly high costs that we, as a startup, cannot simply pull out of a hat. Registering all products as Cologne List products was therefore simply not financially feasible before. When it came to listing, we therefore focused on certain products, such as our bestsellers or particularly relevant products.
On the other hand, our Vegan Protein Powder could not be included for a long time because it contained hemp protein. And unfortunately, the keyword hemp is a no-go for the Cologne List, even if it is only one protein component. We knew this and therefore did not even try. The good news: Since our new formula without hemp, our Vegan Protein Powders are eligible for listing.
What this means for Vetain:
Our goal is clear: In the long term, we want all Vetain products to be on the Cologne List. Even today, we produce according to the same high quality and purity standards, regardless of whether a product is already listed or not.
What does it say about our products that we are on the Cologne List?
