This protein mousse is probably the most chocolatey, creamy, and delicious dessert you'll ever try. Okay, that may be a little exaggerated, but this chocolate mousse has truly won everyone's heart at the Vetain team. What's more, it contains an impressive 34 g of protein per serving.
And don't worry: Making protein mousse yourself may sound complicated, but it's actually very easy and quick.

Melt the chocolate in a bain-marie. Then let it cool briefly so that it is no longer hot.
Add all the ingredients (except the aquafaba) to a blender and blend until a creamy, homogeneous mixture forms.
Chill this mixture in the refrigerator for 30 minutes, and whip the aquafaba for about 5 minutes in the meantime. Aquafaba behaves similarly to egg whites - it becomes firm, frothy, and white when whipped.
Carefully fold the aquafaba into your protein mousse so that it becomes nice and fluffy.
Caution: Do not stir vigorously anymore, otherwise the mousse will collapse.
Pour the cream into small dessert glasses and refrigerate for 2-12 hours. This is important so that the mousse becomes truly airy!
Optionally garnish the protein mousse with fresh fruit, chocolate shavings, or desiccated coconut before serving, and enjoy your light and fluffy dessert.
Recipe Note
For me, this High Protein Mousse is the ultimate protein dessert. Whether after exercising, with coffee, or as a dessert after a protein-rich lunch - it is simply a dream.
The 4 Seasons with the Best Protein Mousse
The High Protein Mousse naturally tastes wonderful all year round. But I really enjoy living with the seasons and adapting my favorite recipes to the respective seasons:
In spring, I like the Protein Chocolate Mousse in the classic version - but sometimes I also make a vanilla mousse (High Protein, of course) from it. This works wonderfully if you simply replace the chocolate protein powder with vanilla protein powder and leave out the dark chocolate. I add a generous portion of vanilla extract.
In summer, I love fresh recipes: I either blend a few fresh peppermint leaves into my chocolate mousse (protein version or not), or add a large handful of freshly picked berries.
In autumn, the cozy season begins and the popular Pumpkin Spice returns. During the autumn months, I like to swap the chocolate protein for Pumpkin Spice protein powder to create a spicy autumnal dessert.
Winter means snow, cold, and a generous pinch of cinnamon to me! Around Christmas, I also like to add it to my High Protein Chocolate Mousse.
By the way: This recipe is also a fantastic dessert for the holidays.

Substitution table
How often do we want to recreate a recipe, only to find that certain ingredients are missing or that we don't like some components? For this reason, we've created an ingredient substitution table for you, so you can adapt the recipe to your liking! Simply replace individual ingredients as you wish!
Vegan dark chocolate → Chocolate of your choice or cocoa powder
Chocolate protein powder → Other protein powders, such as vanilla protein, nut protein, or cinnamon protein.
Maple syrup → dates (blend well!) or another sweetener of your choice
Vanilla extract → vanilla flavoring
Aquafaba → plant-based whipping cream
Our high-protein mousse is vegan, but of course you can also use animal-based ingredients if you prefer!
